Thought Adjuster: “Discard once and for all the idea that material success somehow has a connection with spiritual success. They are completely independent variables. One has nothing to do with the other. It is the human being, through the power of free will, who can determine how the circumstances of material life can be used to positively influence spiritual progress. Success or failure can be great teachers if the one who lives through these experiences uses them to learn and to grow.
Do not let money be your main motivation. If what you think you can achieve is only a scheme to obtain more wealth, the falseness of these desires will soon become evident in your life. This is how many end up doing what they detest just to maintain their level of material wealth, sacrificing their spiritual progress, their happiness, and even their physical and mental health. On the other hand, when you discover that there is something good you can do for the world, and you wish to see that idea become a reality to help your fellow beings, your soul will know how to overcome obstacles, for you will have found one of the things your spirit has inspired you to accomplish.
There are two factors to consider when undertaking any task. The first is the value that this task will add to your life. Will you learn new things? Will performing this task bring you closer to God? Will it make you more spiritual and more useful to your fellow beings? By using these criteria, you can determine the validity of anything you wish to pursue. The second factor is the value that the task adds to civilization, to your fellow beings. Will this new endeavor be a resource to help others live a better life, more in line with their spiritual growth, or on the contrary, will it place additional burdens on their shoulders?
Through this sincere evaluation, you can determine the value of any human enterprise. Thus, many things that human beings do that seem irrelevant become important. Being a father or mother takes on a new dimension, because undoubtedly this experience adds value to your life and to the lives of others, especially your children. And this is true even when no material benefits are involved. Other undertakings that, in society’s eyes, appear prestigious and worthy of praise turn out to be trivial. How many products offered daily around the world and consumed on a massive scale are nothing more than added burdens on the shoulders of mortals? Another way to estimate the validity of an endeavor is to consider what would happen in its absence. What would happen to a civilization if fathers and mothers decided not to fulfill their roles, giving the best of themselves? Undoubtedly that civilization would collapse. Now then, what would happen to the world if some of those corporations that promote entertainment, fashionable electronic devices, and false needs to satisfy disappeared? Probably, the lives of many would become less complicated and more fulfilling.
It is time for human beings to begin thinking independently and to discover the truly valuable things in their lives. Only in this way will your world free itself from the materialism and confusion in which it has been immersed for so long, a situation that has become much more desperate over the last centuries. Use your creativity for the important things, and do not place heavier burdens on your shoulders or those of your fellow beings. Life has been designed so that everyone is born with what they need to achieve true success—a life that allows them to discover and know the Father better through His presence in the human mind. All the shortages and difficulties you experience daily are the result of your collective decisions and actions. It is you who hold in your hands the control of your destiny and your world.”

The Beloved One: “Sit before Me in Silence child, for you are on hallowed ground. Let My love for you permeate you, so you become aware of Me in every cell of your being. Let us rejoice over this togetherness, for your soul is thereby nurtured, and your yearnings answered.
“Yes, I know that you want tangible proof of My existence. How is it that you doubt Me so? Look back over your life, and see My light erasing all the shadows of your past. There is only the now – the Eternal now – and now, for now is all there is.
“Each moment is a gift from the Eternal Giver. He has given Me to you, and you to Me. We are eminently suited to each other. My dear counterpart, surrender to Me, and together we shall make you into a divine being.
“The Infinite One has decided that you shall become an individual expression of Himself. He longs to see Himself mirrored in you and He knows that this shall be, for His will is being done, in you by you through you, and by Me, in you, with you, and through you.
“Together we function as one, becoming increasingly as one, so that in time no one can tell us apart, because we will have become one.

Subject: “Travel Light and Travel Smart.”

“Do you not realize that the hope of a better nation—or a better world—is bound up in the progress and enlightenment of the individual?” [UB, 145:2.8]
Thought Adjuster: “The thought came to your mind that you are backpacking through this physical reality toward a destination that lies way beyond your current vision field and down-to-earth reality?
What is in your backpack? Is it packed with the essentials constituting an effective survival kit, or have you stuffed it with the cumbersome dead weight of useless luxury items that are hampering your progression and do not meet any real needs? Why would you deem them as worthy to be painstakingly hauled on your back along the steep cosmic ascension climb?
Those who engage on treacherous trails carry the bare minimum—and yet everything needed for a safe journey. Along the way, they may come to realize that some of the items they transport are burdensome but expendable; they make an informed decision to part with them to lighten their load, thus gaining a second wind and gaining reassurance that they will successfully reach their next destination point.
Check the content of your spiritual backpack. Any items it contains should meet your immediate needs and make you sustainable. Anything else must be discarded as unhealthy attachments, detrimental to the success of your mission.
Fill your backpack with values—not with valuables. They are the food rations of your soul and should definitely be part of your eternal survival kit. Take with you all the gems of wisdom and truth that you have gathered so far, as wisdom and truth are the most reliable guides.
Pack in it all the love of your heart, as it will fuel your progression. Discard grudges, resentment, and their likes, as this type of memorabilia does not belong in the photo album of your life and considerably weighs you down. Instead, pack all your good memories; they are feather-light and can be shared with your fellow travelers when you relax around the campfire.
Once your backpack has been thus reorganized, you will get a bounce in your steps, and your heart will hum happy tunes. Isn’t it the life journey you envisioned? Do travel light and do travel smart!”

Teacher Ophelius: “Today, my dear friends, let us come together as one mind and let us seek the common ground as siblings on the path reaching for a greater sense of wholeness — to know ourselves and to have a greater understanding of what it means to live eternally as a child of the Creator-Father. Though we may stand on different rungs of the ladder, separated by dimensional veils, we are not so different. We desire the same things — to know the Great Mystery — to discover the astonishing brilliance of the Creator’s infinite mind as it is revealed to us as we walk the path before us into the unknown. What does it feel like, look like, sound like, smell like, and taste like, to explore the grand universe? How shall we change as we step up the ladder of perfection? Who shall we meet there and what fantastic adventures will we have? What does real bliss feel like? Can you imagine feeling love that is so pure that you melt into oneness with all there is — having no thought or word to describe the inexplicable state of absolute joy? Have you thought about such things? Do you want to explore the universes — see other worlds and other peoples and creatures? Oh, what truth, beauty, and goodness awaits you — how blessed are we to have the opportunity to experience such things!
“As above, so below — the shadows of these greater things of light exist in your world today and you only have to look with a child’s eye to see them. You are already exploring the universe on your world — this is the beginning! How many fantastic places are there on Urantia where can you travel and experience a completely different way of life — meet new peoples and see creatures you have never seen before? Can you not see the face of God in a child, a friend, or a lover? Can you not experience a greater degree of bliss by removing the conditions for acceptance — to love another as you want to be loved? The truth, beauty and goodness of such things are all around you like ripe fruit waiting to be picked and savored. What is it that you are waiting for? You are on the journey now! Awaken to this fact, my friends and live your life as a part of this greater adventure you imagine in the hereafter. What have you to fear?
“Do you not know that you are the living vessels for the Divine Indwelling? Being host to the Indwelling Spirit of the Creator means that you have neigh limitless potential — can you think about what that means? Not even I nor my companions here on the mansion worlds can fathom such glory, yet it’s the very idea of such glory that drives us toward godlikeness. As our hearts grow softer with love and joy, our minds expand to understand more of the Mystery. It is no different for you and the same can be said for all who walk the earth. See through the eyes of the heart and your whole body shall be filled with light.
“Do you believe me not? I tell you the truth, for if you wish to test my word, then I have an assignment for you. Go and stand before one person, hold their hands, and look them in the eye and say with the most sincere heart: ‘I love you, I appreciate you, and I am blessed to know you.’ That’s it. That is all you need to do and I guarantee that you will both grow in that moment and never be exactly the same as you were before you spoke those words. Your whole body shall be filled with light! What if you did this every day? Oh, the potential, the potential, the potential!

The Beloved One: “In your lesson this morning you read how wonderful it would be if you could discern others with spirit eyes and hear with spirit ears. Dear child that would also entail that you would become aware of others’ needs and longings. There is not a human alive on this planet who does not entertain secret longings about true love in their hearts and an honest-to-goodness true partnership.
“There are so many people who are more bereft than they themselves are able to realize. Often life seems so harried and busy that many don’t give themselves the chance or the time to get to know their inner selves or begin to realize that they actually are God’s children.
“This has nothing whatsoever to do with going to any church or belonging to any denomination. Truly, life matters only if people have been able to cultivate a personal relationship with their Maker and Creator through their Thought Adjuster and have started to develop their embedded divine blueprint, which is always available to them to cultivate during their life span.
“How wonderful it would be if increasingly more of His mortal children would take a peaceful pause to breathe deeply and realize there is a purpose to life; and take some time to turn within and figure out the how, the what and why in life.
“It is regrettable that on this planet there have sprung up near uncountable confusing belief systems, which are accepted as truth by too many sincere souls, And they do it often without giving this matter any further consideration. Instead they should search their hearts where truth resides, (even though it feels like too much work) which on a higher level is true. Remember that nothing of real lasting value is accomplished the easy way.
“Of true importance would be some soul-searching to find out if the self is truly happy or instead perchance chasing after ‘something worthwhile out there,’ instead of searching within and finding the beginning of soul peace and contentment already there.
“This would comprise the beginning of an all-consuming discovery tour to find that Pearl of Great Value within, which can be had by any thinking and normal-minded human in the form of a personal relationship with the Spark from God within, so patiently waiting to be discovered.
“It is then that the real purpose of life will be discovered in accepting the urge to increase soul values through practicing the fruits of the spirit such as sincerity, fairness, forgivingness, tolerance, courageous loyalty, loving service and more — the true lasting values in eternal life.
“Hidden gifts that have been waiting to see the light of day shall be discovered to support and companion the traveler on the ascension highway towards the eternal destiny of perfection — learning along the way as much as possible and fulfilling the one command ever given by the Universal Creator: to become perfect.
“This means having become co-creators with the Spark from God, given for this specific purpose as Guide and Companion along the way. Therefore, the sooner you allow yourself to listen to the still Voice, the sooner your eternal journey can begin in earnest with your full cooperation, resulting in increasing inner peace, joy, contentment and satisfaction.
“This is the true reason for living.”
