Teacher Prolotheos.
Subject: “Learning to Deal with Violence.”
Received by Valdir Soares.
Prolotheos: “Violence is one of the most common problems on your world. Violence is the intentional or careless use of force or power causing harm to an individual, a group or nations. Using force and power without provocation or without causing harm to others is possible, useful and highly preferable. The use of force is indeed a means of survival in the evolutionary process. In nature it is blindly instinctive; but in humans, it is purposeful. Primitive man used force to survive, and so does modern man, to provide food, for defense, law enforcement and penalizing evildoing. How should you deal with violence nowadays?
“Learn to deplore violence. Dealing with violence, in your day and age, demands that you take a radical stance against it. It is safe to be radical against violence, because in deploring it, you also commit yourself to never resort to violence – not even to combat violence itself. On Urantia it is almost impossible to find someone who has not in some way been a victim of violence. However, it is not necessary to have had a traumatic experience with violence to know it is wrong. Deplore it, if possible, exclusively on the basis of principle. By merely deploring violence from a principle viewpoint you will never justify the slogan violence begets violence.
“Learn to Defuse Violence. Dealing with violence requires wisdom and creativity. Not even your noble examples of passive resistance are wholly recommended because this ultimately uses the counterpart of violence to reach the wanted objectives. When facing possible personal violence, flee from it as quickly as you can. When seized by violent means, do not return violence. The best way to combat violence is by disarming it through reasoning, dialog and by appealing to justice. Remember that within any normal human being you have a Partner – the Spirit of God – to convince the perpetrator against using violence on you. To suffer unprovoked violence is preferable to practicing it.
“Learn to Denounce Violence. However, in doing so, be aware you are confronting a dangerous, maladjusted and evil person or system. Denouncing violence might make it stop, even create an awareness of its evil nature and harmful means, but it might also produce more violence against you and those near you. Denouncing it is necessary, but it should be done wisely, to avoid more violence. Denounce violence for humane reasons, not for political or personal gain. As well, be careful with your emotions. One’s bravado could require a price to be paid that was not expected and is not happily paid for.
“Thus, my pupil, on this matter remember that God never originates violence. Violence is harmful, inhumane, unjust and must be deplored. Loving your neighbor will help you learn how to defuse violence instead of propagating it. Be wise when opposing violence so as to not become another victim of it. Denounce it from the safest standpoint you know, for dealing with violence can be tricky. That is why you really need the guidance of your Spirit Within. This lesson is from your tutor on High, Prolotheos. Peace to all!”

The Scribe of Damascus.
Subject: “Evolutionary Progress” (shortened transmission).
Received by George Barnard.
George: “A time may well arrive when you introduce yourself as the Damascus Scribe and folks will enquire as to where Damascus could possible be in that place of all desert, ruin and radioactivity.”
The Scribe: “My views are well known about the approaching signs of all-out warfare, for they are on a par with the feelings of the Creator-Father from whose bosom I hail. At this time we are contemplating some universal laws and rules of celestial behavior that do not quite measure up to the regulations as portrayed in the Urantia Papers. It must be understood that during the mid-1980s a dispensation did come about. However, certain seeming exceptions to universal laws have a long, long history of occurring and recurring.
“Apart from your having more freedom in your communication between planets since this new minor dispensation, there were always the events you may call potential disturbances to the “Flow of Life” — those events foreseen to have a likely long-term negative effect upon human progress on the evolutionary worlds. Direct action may be taken and human actors may be directed to alter an otherwise unprofitable outcome. Always bear in mind that the Creator-Father runs all worlds.
“Since the 1980s there has certainly been a great deal more freedom— especially in communication. And yet the majority of these events have been standard exceptions to primary rules of which you had no awareness. The unusual experience that was brought to your attention may well have its basis in the (Progress list) subscriber’s personal needs — important advice for her future or safety. The information could have been a reward of a kind, something she deserved. Perhaps someone near her needed it. It happens.
“Perhaps the ‘Flow of Life’ and a great number of outcomes needed to be ‘made safe’ — for future events to unfold as needed. Possibly your subscriber is rather fearless, has an open mind and likely will become a great helper to her Guardians. And, my friend, perhaps there was a combination of these needs and/or opportunities that were to be achieved. There is little in this world that can be said to be a random occurrence, for all is foreknown and anything at all can be tweaked to suit the “Flow of Life.”
“A welcome 1980s dispensation, though minor, brought you some changes that made your Urantia Book a tiny little bit outdated. It did not make it wrong. Oh no — just not quite up to date, because of these new inter-planetary freedoms to be experienced and myriad previously unreported minor universe rules and laws.
“I am the Damascus Scribe who leaves you his love.”
Note: A struggling 11:11 subscriber, Jessica, writes about a neighbor instructing her where to go to make an important real estate sale. Jessica indeed made her rather urgently needed sale, but the neighbor does not now remember having given such advice — any word on advice!

Teacher Ophelius.
Subject: “The Connection between Centers.”
Received by Chris.
Teacher Ophelius: “Today we would like to focus on the heart and mind centers and the important connection between the two. Like any good functioning system, there needs to be a strong conduit where energy flows freely from one center to the other. The heart and the mind are the two most essential centers within you for experiencing the world in a healthy way, for if the conduit that connects one to the other is weak or broken, these two strong centers can begin to operate independently and when this occurs, the world is experienced differently from the intention of Spirit (the Creator’s Will), which may skew the perception of mind and allow the heart to over-react, causing confusion. Building a strong communication conduit between the heart and mind is key to healthy soul development and survival value life experiences.
“This connection between the two centers is like the wires between an amplifier and a speaker. All three components are essential to produce sound waves, yet if there is a short in the circuit between the amplifier and speaker, there is an interruption in the flow of electrons — the signal is unclear, broken, noisy and unpleasant to listen to. If you do not know how to repair the circuit, you will most likely shut down the system to avoid the unpleasant sound of a dysfunctional system.
“This, my friends, is how many people operate in their lives when there is an unhealthy balance in the heart and mind centers because of a breakdown in communication. The heart is where Spirit speaks and that message is intended (willed) to flow freely into the mind where decisions can be made and actions taken to produce an experience that is progressive — the path to perfection. When the two centers act independently because of poor communication, they over-compensate for the loss of free-flowing energy.
“The heart (the amplifier) builds up to an emotional overload because it has nowhere to release the energy (electrons) and the mind (the speaker), having no balanced input from the heart, begins to “listen” to the only messages that are coming in — from the material world and from the inner critic: the ego. When the mind begins to depend on these alternative energies (from the material world and the ego), it begins to “burn-in” those neuro-pathways in the brain and then it becomes more and more difficult to again listen to the heart.
“How do we “re-train” our brains to again listen to the heart? By flexing our spiritual faith muscles and clearing out the mind from all the noise and interference from the world — by silencing the inner critic and focusing our minds on the voice of the Indwelling Spirit. Communicate with the Creator through stillness, prayer, gratitude, acceptance, patience and love. Build the conduit by slowing down and experiencing life in a new way. “Smell the roses.” Notice the beauty that surrounds you. Begin doing those things that you would “imagine” a loving Creator would want you to do and experience.
“It is like riding a bicycle. Using training wheels will give you the momentum to get your balance and once you “feel” that balance, you can discard the training wheels. That “balance,” my friends, is the evidence of a strong conduit between the heart and mind. Be confident in that balance and enjoy the ride of life!
“Peace to you,
“The Circle of Seven.”

Thought Adjuster.
Subject: “The Greatest Contributions.”
Received by Oscar.
Thought Adjuster: “An illusion that mortals should learn to leave behind is the one of ‘the greatest contributions’. Who is bigger in the eyes of your Father: The one who shouts words of wisdom to the world, or a homemaker who dedicates her life to providing for her family without earning any laurels? You already know the answer. All are equal in the eyes of God, yes — even those who live only for themselves.
“The difference lies in the lessons learned. It is possible that our homemaker achieves such a high degree of abandonment of the self by her desire of being the best possible version of herself for her family. Perhaps our ‘prophet’ only desires acknowledgment for his ideas and his genius — a reward for his ego. It is by their motivation that one can determine the quality of experience — its eternal value.
“The problem with those who perform great deeds only to get a reward is that when there is a need for someone to work alone without glory, these contributors will not do the work. However, those who are used to giving the best of themselves as an offering to God — knowing that only the Father is aware of their efforts — can be trusted to be great in lesser and bigger tasks. This is the discipline you should master and the goal to which you should aspire.
“The key to a true and higher service is love. If you make the effort to do your best out of love for the One who has created and inspired you, you will achieve a high degree of spiritual growth. Human beings very soon learn to deeply love those who receive the best of their service and help. The most eloquent example of this is the great love that human parents develop for their children through their many years of dedication to their welfare. A life dedicated to the intelligent service to others will produce a higher understanding of the unconditional love of God for all. This love will fill your soul and will easily overflow to other human beings.
“In the end, that answer is always love. This is also the clearest sign of spiritual growth and universal citizenship. A slave of tradition does the work of the Father because it is the right thing to do. A true son of God does it because of the love for his or her siblings, which is a path to understanding and experiencing the love of the Father.”

Urantia, September 30, 2014.
Teacher: The Beloved One.
Subject: “Making Spiritual Progress.”
Received by Lytske.
The Beloved One: “Well then, finally an answer to your silent question: “Am I making progress in my inner life?” The long and the short answers would be that this weighty question is best answered by you. However, your hidden longing is to gain confirmation from me that is beyond doubt. As long as you entertain self-limiting thoughts, and you de-value yourself as a child from the Most High God, you have more work to do. This has nothing whatsoever to do with destroying your ego. It is simply a matter of becoming more balanced, and having a calm demeanor, without being thrown about by the winds of change around you. It is also by not being disturbed by negative comments from others, which might send you right back into a self-limiting mode.
“The Eternal Creator has a special design for each mortal, given to each new human offspring drawing its first breath. It is this divine blueprint embedded in each one, with the freedom to discover this wonderful secret for the self. And this is especially the case on this precious bestowal planet of the Ruler of this Universe in which your tiny blue orb is located. Some humans, who had not discovered this truth of their being, or where unwilling to discover this truth, once conspired to nail Him to a cross of wood. They lost thereby the chance for their race to remain the chosen people to proclaim the good news of a loving Creator God to all the peoples of this Earth. This promise was made by a certain Melchizedek to father Abraham some time before Jesus’ coming. This good news message continued to be passed on by many prophets and seers to keep the promise alive.
“Here we see in this sordid tale how un-progressive humans can be when they pay no heed to the warnings that had sounded throughout their history. Instead they persisted on remaining stuck in old worn-out dogmas and laws, instead of heeding the warnings of their olden prophets. The resounding message of John the Baptist – the forerunner of Jesus – to prepare the way for the Messiah, was also ignored by the rulers of the people.
“This, my child, shows the true small-mindedness of a people, who could have made this world a better place. Instead unbelief and greed were the reason for their downfall. They forfeited this promised gift of announcing the good news by their refusal and non-acceptance to become the teachers of Jesus’ message of God’s unconditional love for each who had an ear to hear and to accept His loving message in their hearts.
“Put in simple terms, progress and beginning to fulfill that precious divine blueprint happen through listening more carefully to the Guiding Light within. Also, one must not diminish this Light, but instead feed one’s own light by ensuring that one’s end of the communication lines to God is open, in order to take advantage of that pilot light within each one. This is entirely possible. However, since you humans have been given free will, it depends on your willingness to take the time each day to converse with that most valuable and awesome Spark from God within, as this is the most important way of making spiritual progress.”
