The Scribe: “It is better to look forward than it is to look back, at least on a more regular basis. You are progressive, all of you, and so it is no great mystery why you are a member of the 11:11 Progress Group. Midwayers, Angels and other Celestials who might have prompted you to become part of these regular lessons knew that you were, that you are and that you will always be progressive.
“You need to almost always be looking forward, but on occasion and just to humor yourself . . . and perhaps Me — the Damascus Scribe — I want you to be looking back in time in the very best way you objectively can manage to regard your very own behavior. Let us say that someone insulted you today. Would you have your fists at ready for an attack on this individual? Would you repay him or her with a derogatory remark? Would you simply smile and shake your head or shrug your shoulders? Would you compliment the offender on his or her own good graces?
“And if you can clearly ‘see’ your behavior, ask yourself how you would have reacted one year ago . . . ten years ago . . . even more. The difference between such reactions is the degree to which you will have grown, matured or bettered yourself. It is a bold measure of the extent to which you have moved forward in the eternal goal of becoming perfect as your Creator-Father is perfect — be honest in your evaluation of this.
“Jealousy, my dear friends, provides one of the very best possibilities for gauging how you may have grown over time. The good fortune of one person is likely to bring on a veritable ‘pang of jalousy’ in another. For an envious individual this can be a very sudden shock as few are prepared to admit to themselves that they may have a jealous streak. Whilst anger is frequently admitted to and often seen as almost acceptable in your culture, jealousy is not.
“Erroneously so, jealousy is often seen as a typically feminine trait or a classic women’s conundrum. Let me asssure you that is not so, for both sexes are approximatly equally beset by the green-eyed monster.
“I advise you to test yourself — only rarely. I am the Damascus Scribe. Always count on me.”

Subject: “A Word for Your World.”

Christ Michael: “Upon my return from Urantia I sent you my Spirit of Truth, as the Father sent you His Spirit Fragments, both to assist each of you and make your spiritual progress a constant reality. You have come far already, considering how the Lucifer and Caligastia follies have delayed you. You still have a great distance to travel in making up for what you lost, but all in all, your progress since my departure is remarkable! At this time I want to encourage you to keep on course, knowing that, as I promised, I will be with you even till the ‘end of time.’
“First of all, never forget that Urantia is my Home World. Although the benefits that my bestowal brought to your world would be the same as if anyone of my Avonal brothers would have done this for you, it does set your world apart in many ways, and certainly, it has a special meaning for me personally. Urantia was where I finished my bestowal program and acquired total sovereignty over my Universe of Nebadon. You are not being treated better than other planets in my domain, but you do have this distinction of being my Home World. Surely, we have a special bond.
“Further, notice that you are now at a Critical Time. You are now in a transition time, which is known in your midst as the Correction Time. That measure was necessary after the Lucifer Rebellion’s adjudication, to bring you and other spheres so affected back to the normal path of dispensations. Transitions are never easy and they always bring risks of confusion and retrogression. Your current major risk is to do with havoc on your world with a never-before-seen global war. Remember, my children, your most powerful weapons are words, they start wars, they can prevent wars. Learn how to conduct proper dialogue!
“Finally, know you have much Help Available. Besides the regular quota for the spiritual administration of Urantia from your System, you need to know that Urantia is now receiving help not only from Mother Spirit and me, but also from your Constellation, from the local Universe Headquarters, even from our Superuniverse of Orvonton, and Paradise. Every Urantian is free to choose good or evil, but my associates are there to help, interact and sometimes to cautiously intervene, so you may choose consciously and well. However, we cannot force you to do good. You must choose. Choose well, my children, choose peace.
“Thus, the present situation poses a great challenge to you. This is not the first and will not be the last. You have overcome others, you will overcome this one too, I am sure. However, at what cost? Life by itself has many difficulties (I know, I lived there with you), so why add unnecessary pains? You are all my children, regardless of your racial, social or religious differences. Come together, my children, we are one family, not only on Urantia but in all of Creation. A great future awaits you on Urantia if only you come together as one.”

Subject: “About Living in the Higher Worlds.”

Thought Adjuster: “The life you experience in this world is the foundation of eternal life. The spiritual progress you achieve during this life will determine how easily you will adapt to the life of a universal citizen. To make this adaptation as efficient as possible, the best thing you can do is to start to live as if you were already in the mansion worlds. In other words, it is living in the present as if you are living in a world where the age of light and life has been reached.
This is possible and it was demonstrated very eloquently in the life of Jesus of Nazareth, who lived a life like the ones lived upon worlds in an advanced stage of light and life, and he did it two thousand years ago on this very planet. The age of light and life is not a season that will arrive on its own, like spring coming after winter, or day coming after night. It is an achievement of humanity and is only possible when each human being inaugurates an age of light and life in her own heart.
What do I mean by this? Today many of you desire peace and fraternity among human beings, but most of you seem to ignore the fact that for this to happen each of you must learn to love your neighbors and seriously follow the golden rule – to treat others as you would like to be treated. If you want peace among men and women you have to be friendly to those around you, and remove all mistrust, suspiciousness, and reservations against those you may consider as strangers or different. If you wish that material ambition ceases to be the main motivation for human enterprises, first you have to ensure it is not your main motivation. If you wish that men and women in this world treat each other as siblings regardless of race, beliefs, or their place of origin, then this is exactly what you as an individual have to do first. Understand that all these good things you desire for your world and your people can only be possible when you practice them first. This is how you create a reality filled with light and goodness in this world.
Heaven on earth may seem a very distant goal in your world, but this does not have to be the case in your individual lives. Choose right now to live as if the Father was walking next to you – because, in fact, He does – and thus you become one more light fighting against the darkness that has covered your world for so long. Live with joy knowing that by faith you are a child of God and do for your peers what the Father would do for them. This way you will develop the hunger and thirst for righteousness that can only be satisfied through the experience of becoming more like God, and this is, in the end, the simplest way to start living as if you were already in the higher worlds.”

The Beloved: “Let us discuss how to overcome your baser creature habits and tendencies of requiring instant gratification. You need to root out those habits that keep you an earthbound creature, without spirit wings to soar before the throne of God.
The influence of the world is very strong with its increasing materialism, so the matter of eternal life gets only cursory attention. Become aware of how ensnared you are by commercialism, enticing you to 'buy this, buy that, a bigger this, a better that.'
Before you know it, you will have fallen into the claws of the god of money, because you have bought into the false belief that worldly goods are the answer to happiness, but that which you truly desire will never be satisfied.
Here is the secret allowing you to truly attain inner peace – the peace your Master Jesus spoke of. He said, 'I have come, not to bring peace, but a sword.' The true meaning of this saying is for you to do the work within yourself by overcoming that baser urge of instant gratification, which will never be fulfilled, but can only be temporarily satisfied.
To start fighting this impulse, you need the sword of self-discipline, to be able to honestly ask yourself, 'do I really need this, or can I train myself to resist, and not give in to this urge?
See if you can gain some ground here. You need a sharp sword to cut away this instinctive creature urge that tries to take over, because the line between needs and wants has become blurred, as the god of mammon and the gratification of the flesh have almost completely taken over.
Peace of mind remains nebulous and elusive to most humans. It is never too late to turn within and search for My still Voice, which ever so patiently waits to be heard, and can give each mortal that peace of mind and rest in their soul, which humankind so earnestly desires and know not how to obtain.
Come into the Silence within awhile, and gain a peace the world can never give you.”

Thought Adjuster: “When Salome, the mother of James and John Zebedee, approached Jesus, soliciting that her sons be assigned honorific sittings at his right and left in the upcoming kingdom, Jesus was both saddened and appalled by her bold request.
Driven by egotistic motherly pride, Salome did not grasp that she was putting her sons in great danger. Jesus inaugurated the spiritual kingdom of heaven when he rendered his last breath after agonizing as an innocent, human sacrifice. He thus heroically earned spiritual sovereignty over the kingdom of the hearts.
“And their mother, who was present at the crucifixion, well remembered the foolish request she had made of Jesus at Pella regarding the honors she so unwisely sought for her apostle sons. [UB, 171:0.7]
Jesus never missed an opportunity to inspire his entourage. He premeditated his moves, assuming full responsibility for their outcome. He always set his sights on the Father’s long- and short-term benevolent vision, never allowing the many entrapments that lure immature human minds to entrap him.
Always end your petitions for divine assistance with the disclaimer, ‘but my will is to do Your will.’ It will make you disappointment-proof. If your requests seem to fall on deaf, divine ears, know that it is not for lack of due consideration. Your disclaimer will allow your guidance team to edit them into an acceptable version that will honor your highest good, and that much better things are in store for you, ever nudging you Godward in truth, beauty, and goodness.”
