Thought Adjuster: “Prayer does not ensure divine favor, but it benefits greatly the souls of those who pray. Prayer is mainly a means to prepare the soul and the human mind for spiritual reception. It is a tool to syntonize your mind with the transmissions of spirit, bringing a creature closer to her Creator.
If you pray only for yourself, you are expressing your lowest selfish nature. When you pray, sincerely, for the spiritual enlightenment of your peers and the progress of your world you are expressing a wish that is similar to the plans of the Father, and this brings you closer to His will and His way of thinking. As you get closer to the Father you will be able to hear and understand Him, not through words but through your experience and the confirmation you receive by noticing how the fruits of spirit arise in your life.
Pray frequently so your mind learns to keep the connection with spirit. Pray privately and personally, establishing a direct conversation with your Father in heaven, who wishes for these opportunities to help you transform into a being of light and love. Pray to know His will, which is to make of each and every one of us perfected beings, capable of participating in the development of His divine plan and the creation of a reality that is increasingly more beautiful.
There are no prescribed way, practices, or methods, to make your prayers more effective. Prayer is just a way to use your free will and your sincere intention to elevate your mind to the spiritual heights where the Father can be found. The needs of your body and your mind are already known by the Father. Therefore, you do not need to remind Him. But you will obtain great benefits if your pray with enough faith to remember what you really are and where you are going. The needs and problems of your siblings are also known by the Father, but praying for them will go a long way in tearing down the walls of your indolence, helping you express love in the form of service to your peers.
Sincere prayer will not transform the world, but it transforms those who pray, providing them with the spiritual resources and the inspiration to make the changes that are so needed in this sphere. Your problems have to be solved by you, since this is the way to learn and become useful personalities for the universes – universal citizens. However, this does not mean that you are alone. Use prayer to gain access to the source of all wisdom – the Presence of God within your being – and this way you will be capable of transcending the things of this world and becoming a being in the likeness of God, which represents the culmination of the alignment of your human will with the divine will.”

Thought Adjuster: “Human beings are prompt to set verbal boundaries whenever someone meddles with their personal affairs unsolicited. “Mind your own business!” is their firm rebuke.
Things would be less hostile if they found unity of purpose by attending to the Father’s business, like Jesus, “[who] was unreservedly dedicated to “the Father’s business.” [UB, 100:7.12] As well, “Be about your brother’s business”, is the admonition given by their senior commander to the super angels delegated to accompany one of their own in bestowal missions. [UB, 37:2.8]
Those who are overprotective of their territories may need to reassess their priorities — as well are those who interfere without any respect for social etiquette. The Father is not recruiting fanatics or crusaders — only open-hearted volunteers to promote his benevolent mission statement.
By widening the scope of human ambitions to fall in step with the divine agenda, your business will be His business and vice versa. His business is to see all strive by contributing to the highest good. It is the standard by which you should assess the viability of your undertakings. If they are all about you, you won’t get much mileage out of them. If you incorporate the Golden Rule in your personal mission statement, you will start minding about his glorified business and he will fully back you up in this human-divine partnership.”

Subject: Welcome Him into Your Heart.

The Beloved: “To develop a heart that welcomes the Ruler of a universe, telling Him that He is always welcome to stay and rest a while, is in truth, a reciprocation of the love He has bestowed upon you during your existence.
Slowly you are becoming aware of the fact that He also desires to be welcomed by His children, without being asked for help for one thing or another.
It is a sure sign of growth, even in little children, when they reciprocate with love as they sense a need in their parents. A true bonding springs up between parent and child, a genuine trust-bond and a deep understanding for the needs of others which will serve the child forever as he or she goes forth to establish that same understanding and trust-bond with his or her brothers and sisters
It represents the acquisition of harmonious character traits and a growing balance between the lower creature self and the higher God-self. It is the recognition of the needs of others, and being available just by ‘being there’.
This is true friendship. It does not give advice unless asked for, but it is being available as an oasis in a storm, asking nothing in return. This is really the beginning point of altruistic service, and a great move towards selfhood.
I perceive that this sounds totally compatible with your yearning for understanding as to what it is to be a good friend. Your Master Jesus said, ‘He who would have friends is to show himself friendly’. This was the example He set when He walked upon this earth.
Welcome Him into your heart, and invite Him to come and rest a while at any time, and when you have no need for anything.”

George: “It’s almost irreverent, except you said…”
The Scribe: “Well, indeed did I say, you need only mention my name and I shall be with you? I have for you all a lesson that will open both your eyes and minds about the power of spiritual proximity and its results, good or bad. I will discuss with you all, the rebellion of millennia ago, and the resulting difficulties for great numbers of the children of the System of Satania – Angels, of course, and Midwayers – but countless others unrecorded in your books.
“Many have asked themselves the question, ‘Why would so many Primary Midwayers – the majority to be sure – find themselves ‘cheering for’ anyone, other than the Creator Son of Nebadon. There are basically three important reasons why they did. Firstly, Lucifer, and in this planet’s instance, his first lieutenant, Satan, made promises of a better, more independent life for all Urantians if they switched sides. Secondly, the Lucifer manifesto was being promoted over and over again, carefully at first, enthusiastically as time went by.
“More importantly, and thirdly, there was the matter of spiritual proximity. Doubtful as this can sound, proximity to an individual of such high office as was held by Lucifer, Satan, or even Caligastia, had its effect on underlings like Midwayers and Angels. Exalted spiritual personalities always effect ‘the economy of any spiritual realm’ by their very presence. The Primary Midwayers were long subjected to the Elites’ supposed ‘better deal’, and any slight weakness in their personality had them lose sight of their real task.
“Any aspect of impatience, or frustration, any feeling of boredom, or dread about the slowness of evolutionary processes would sooner or later have them all note how their superiors sold themselves, and ‘the new deal’, and what their leaders had to say about that ‘glorious alternative’ to the status quo. However, more sinister than all this was the way their minds readily, but quite un-noticed, aligned themselves with the convictions of their superiors. The process can almost be likened to osmosis, and must be seen as almost unavoidable.
“Much better educated than were the Secondary Midwayers, the Primary Midwayers lost proportionately more to the rebellion than did their younger, distant cousins. Strange? Indeed, no! The Primary Midwayers were subjected to the rebellious teachings for much longer, and as well, they often had the then Planetary Prince in close proximity. The somewhat uneducated Secondary Midwayers noted and disliked the spiritual disorganization of that time, and they had Adamson, and some loyal Primary Midwayers close at hand.
“There now is no more war in the heavens, so bear this in mind in your comings and goings, that your association with celestials is of great benefit to you. Such is the case not just here, but during all of your future journey from the fertile soils of this evolutionary world to the grandeur of Mansonia and beyond.

Subject: “Giving Without Expectations.”

Thought Adjuster: “To give without expecting anything in return is a very important and necessary attitude to have in this world. However, we should clarify some of the ideas that your society has formulated in this respect.
“Human beings must work to earn their sustenance. It is not expected of mortals to work without obtaining a benefit. If a person works solely for the benefit of another, this is slavery. If a person decides to forfeit their fair earnings, due for his or her efforts, this person is endangering his or her material survival. Clearly, work should be adequately remunerated, and all mortals have the right to enjoy the results of their material labors.
“When we talk about giving without expectations, we talk about those things you can offer your siblings to improve their lives or to enlighten their ways. These things may be separated from your profession or be a part of it. Problems arise when people determine that the potential effort involved to help others doesn’t make sense, because it will not result in personal benefits.
“Such is the prevailing attitude in the world today. So often the answers are known, but they are not implemented by an individual, group, corporation, or government, because they haven’t found a way to profit from them. You may notice how much food is wasted by the biggest retailers of industrialized nations. Tons of food are never sold, and this surplus is simply discarded, wasted. One might think that this surplus could be used to feed the poorer nations on earth. However, these big corporations have not found a method in which to do this and generate earnings at the same time, when in fact they could just send that food to where it is most needed, using barely a fraction of their huge profits. This bottom-line way of thinking prevents a lot of good from being done in the world.
“Even those in the ‘self-help’ and spirituality circles are subjected to this way of thinking. So often do they approach those who really need their help and instead of offering the advice, guidance, and counseling that would help them, they just provide them with a sales offer. ‘I can make your dreams a reality, if you pay’ seems to be their basic pitch.
“My beloved children, everything that has been placed in this world is for the enjoyment of all. You already have all the resources you need on this planet, so each human being can have everything needed to live a normal life and much more. If you have an idea about solving a problem, give it to the world. Don’t hold back until you first figure out a way for it to benefit you. If you can help your brother, do it without thinking that you are wasting your time because you are not making a profit. Don’t take advantage of the suffering and the confusion of your siblings in order to enrich yourself. Instead take this as an opportunity to represent your Father in this world, so those who receive your goodness can at the soul level feel that they have seen a glimpse of God through your service.”
