Anyas: Good morning, Monjoronson. Today, I would like to broach the topic of effective prayer, a topic that is quite misunderstood and mixed with a lot of superstition. Many treat it as a magic wand of sorts. To me, prayer is energy in motion. It is how I explain it to myself. But how does it go on from there? How does the spirit world treat those prayers? Is there an organization on the other side that relays the prayers to make them effective? These are my first questions.

Monjoronson: Good morning. Let’s begin. Prayer is indeed energy in motion. An effective prayer has an intent. It is done with intention. Now, prayer is often more effective when it is done for the good and when the petitioners of the prayer are open to whatever the answer may be. It becomes even more effective when the petitioners are able to express themselves clearly, not just in words but with an emotional intent as well.

We, who listen to your prayers, and the Father, who is the primary receiver of your prayers, have many, many tools, antennas so to speak, to perceive and direct them. The words that you use are probably the most important to you, but are probably the least important to us. They do provide us with a database of language, but it is what we perceive in your physical reactions, the intent of your prayer, your emotional intent, and even the value system that we perceive you practicing in your daily lives, that actually informs us of what you are trying to convey.

So, you can come to us in a silent prayer. You can come to us with an intent in your mind, with an emotion in your heart, and with a mentality that reflects your belief system, and we can answer your prayer just as fully in that way as if you express it in words. Your prayers encompass the wholeness of you. It is not just what you are expressing at the moment, but what you practice in your life, and the way you express your values, your belief system, and your state of well-being.

We have the capacity to perceive you at a much deeper and more expansive level. All of that impacts the message and direction of the prayers that you give us. We respond to you on a more expansive level because we can perceive more about you. That is oftentimes why you may be praying for one thing and then discover that your prayer is answered in a different way. Because in your petition, you may not have taken into account something that we also see within you. There may be circumstances in the past, present, or future that you may be unaware of. So, at times, it is better to pray for the best possible result instead of asking for a specific outcome.

Anyas: Yes. The Urantia Book explains that when spirit translates our prayers, it is always for the higher good.

Monjoronson: Yes, that is correct.

Anyas: Some prayers take place in moments when we are crying in despair, and it seems those moments for us are like sending an SOS. We do not know how to deal with the emotions, the sadness, or the grief. Because they are urgent, how are those prayers answered? Is it that we receive positive energy, and there is an energy exchange?

Monjoronson: When we perceive an urgency within you and it is jeopardizing your health, your happiness, and your well-being, then we respond in a way that will be most effective to meet your needs.

Let me ask you this: How many times have you gone to your Thought Adjuster in a prayer of desperation, and then within a matter of minutes your telephone rings or there is a knock at your door, and you find yourself in the company of someone whom you can share that desperation with? Has that happened to you?

Anyas: Yes. One time, I was sobbing in my car and calling out to God, sending Him an SOS. The answer was instantaneous because the situation was extremely urgent. I was very aware that it was a divine intervention.

Monjoronson: At times, it may only require us giving a subtle suggestion to another in order to answer a prayer.

Anyas: I could see how that may happen. There are other moments when we are dealing with heavy emotions and our thinking goes in the wrong place, such as “I’d be better off if I were not on this planet.”

So, when we pray for someone who is despondent, does it enable a divine intervention for that person, or does the divine intervention happen no matter what?

Monjoronson: I guess the best way I can answer that for you, Anyas, is that there is always a response. The response may be obvious, or you may not perceive it. The party you are praying for may not perceive it either. But there is always a response.

You are connected to many sources of support. When you petition out of desperation for yourself or another, it is like an SOS. An energetic signal then goes out to all those who are connected and are participating in supporting you. So, it often creates a response or reaction by one of those beings. Sometimes one response is sufficient. Other times, it may require the response of many. And there are those times when it is just not the right time to respond overtly to that need. That is also, in its own way, a response.

There is no one right answer to your question about how that may occur because much depends upon the situations that are wrapped around your petition of prayer, and what that moment in time has to offer you in the way of support. Does that make sense to you?

Anyas: Yes. Thank you for this insight. Taking matters further, there are also some severe emergencies, such as child abuse or child trafficking. How do my prayers support that divine intervention when I think it is so complicated? How can my prayers bring relief to those who suffer in that way?

Monjoronson: We have shared that it will take a critical number of individuals to direct the evolution of your planet. It will not necessarily be a majority, but it will be enough to tip the scales toward a new direction. When you participate in a general prayer, for instance, for those young ones who are being abused as children, then you are contributing to that critical number, to that very important number that will cause exponential change and allow less of this to occur on your planet.
