Recent research confirms that the first five years are particularly important for the development of the child's brain, and the first three years are the most critical in shaping the child's brain architecture. ... They have a direct impact on how children develop learning skills as well as social and emotional abilities.

Thought Adjuster: “Indeed, the formative years have a lasting impact on a human life. When a child is subjected to any type of abuse, it leaves scars in his being that he is not equipped to identify or heal, due to his lack of self-awareness at the time of their occurrence. He feels the pain inflicted upon him but cannot but accept it as part of the norms of his young life. It sets some unhealthy precedent in his life, which makes it very hard for him to understand himself — and others.

“Children need a nurturing environment to develop a balanced and thriving personality. If any of these essential elements are missing, they develop some type of deficiency. It is obvious when it manifests itself in stunted physical growth. Yet, it is much harder to pinpoint when it has to do with emotional and spiritual development.

“However, since your human experience is evolutionary and subject to constant ebb and flow, some deficiencies may be triggered later in life due to unhealthy interhuman relationships in which your free will prerogative is overridden by someone who is abusive and predatory toward you — be it at the workplace, at your home base, or other comparative settings . . . you get the picture.

“Anyone subjected to mental, emotional, or physical abuse instinctively tries to shield himself from such blows. Yet, it is not always easy to identify such abusive situations and, if allowed to go on, they leave emotional scars and bruises on their victims.

“Just as it is practically impossible for a young child to make sense of what is happening to him, it is not very easy for adults either — unless they have an objective sounding-board to turn to in their times of need. Little do they know that such a precious Adviser indwells them and that they also benefit from the invisible assistance of many loving spiritual caretakers who have their highest good at heart.

“Dear ones, whenever you feel stranded on the beaches of hard times, turn within to be refreshed in the inner oasis that is your home away from home. By spending time in silent communion, you will allow Spirit to infuse you with Its wise and informed leadings and assist you in solving some of the key components of your personal enigma.”
