Subject: “Self-limitation.”

Thought Adjuster: “Jesus had only one mission in this world: to make known the love of the Creator Father for His children. His life was the very illustration of this love, a demonstration of a being of divine perfection walking as a human upon the earth. This can also be your purpose. However, many human endeavors that Jesus never considered are also very valuable. Forming a family, marital love, improving society, creating a more advanced government for civilization—all of this is important and offers lessons to mortals which, once learned, will provide them with wisdom they will carry with them to the next levels of existence. Jesus did not need to learn these lessons, but people in this world do need to learn them.

For the spirit, it is a tragedy when a human being decides to self-limit and not explore his or her potential, using the excuse that Jesus did not do this or that thing. Many mistaken ideas about religion and spirituality have been born from this assumption. The idea that wealth is something despicable is one example. The truth is that with wealth, a mortal enlightened by the spirit can do much good, while a human being blinded by ambition would become a slave to false needs. The determining factor of spiritual success regarding wealth is the degree to which a material mind has submitted to the guidance and influence of the spiritual mind, not the quantity of possessions owned.

Another mistake is to assume that if one is born into a situation of poverty, it is because God willed it so, and that striving to rise out of poverty is equivalent to fighting against the will of the Father. Those who think this way forget two fundamental facts. The first is that this world is not perfect, and many problems arise from this lack of perfection in the inhabitants of this planet. The poverty that so many suffer is nothing more than a symptom of the selfishness and ambition of a few, who strive to maintain their unjust advantage over others. And the second fact is even more important and true: the Father loves each of His children equally, and His will is nothing more than to see each of His creatures achieve the highest, most beautiful, and truest version of their personality, thus attaining supreme joy and fulfillment. In other words, the will of God is that all His children be truly happy.

Focus your intention on being ever more useful to creation and more like the Father—drawing nearer to perfection—and do not self-limit your creative faculties. For when a creature strives to be better and attempts to express through its being the highest attributes of truth, beauty, goodness, and love, everything its personality expresses to the world will be an ever more faithful expression of the Father. When you function in this co-creative way, any endeavor you begin will be a work for the fulfillment of the Father’s will in this world.”
